Christal Clear Cosmetics

So a couple of days ago, I received my order from a small, independently owned and operated cosmetics company called Christal Clear, run by a lovely lady named Christal Saville Caladiao.  This brand holds a certain sentimental value for me because it was used as my bridal makeup on my wedding day since I had the privilege of having Christal as my hair and makeup artist!

I've been wanting to purchase my own set of makeup by Christal Clear, but have been too lazy to get around to it.  And since I was shop-happy over Thanksgiving weekend anyway, I decided to invest in some Christal Clear items while I was at it!

This is what I got:

1. Aloe Foaming Face Wash
2. Pro Finish Foundation in China Doll
3. 5 Shadow Palette in Parameters
4. Eyebrow Shader Palette
5. Infinite Cream Eyeliner in Chilling
6. Lip Pencil in Bare

Christal Clear cosmetics is very high-quality, pigmented, and free of fragrances and irritants so it's especially good for sensitive skin.  I like how there's a skincare line in addition to cosmetics and tools.  I already have a bottle of the Cucumber Hydro Mist, which is both a refreshing hydrator as well as a makeup setter.  This will be my second bottle of Aloe Foaming Face Wash.  I use it at night before going to bed and it leaves my skin feeling clean and super-soft.  It also has the barest trace of chamomile fragrance which I find particularly pleasant.

Christal Clear's Pro Finish compact foundation is wonderful.  My face was flawless for 17 hours on the day of my wedding, so of course I was excited to get my own!  I was running low on my current foundation anyway thus it was the perfect time to buy.  The powder is finely milled and almost creamy.  A little goes a long way, I just have to tap my kabuki brush to the surface a few times for complete coverage over my tinted moisturizer.

My Shiseido compact broke during my trip to Washington D.C., so I was really thrilled to purchase this compact from Christal Clear.  It includes four shades that are very versatile and customizable, from fair to dark.  What I love the most is that the colors aren't too reddish, a problem I have with a lot of brow powders.  I'm really happy with how natural my brows look after using this palette.

I haven't had a chance to try the cream eyeliner yet, but Chilling is a very beautiful, vibrant blue with the slightest hint of violet iridescence.  I'll try to get a post up ASAP!

Parameters is a fairly neutral, pigmented collection of 5 shadows including a matte white and black shadow, shimmery silver, and satiny taupe and brown.  It's simple, but can be used for a very natural, daytime look, or smoky, sensuous look.  I can't wait to start experimenting with it!

Here is what I came up with for my first try:

:: Face ::
CG Smoothers Aqua Tinted Moisturizer in Light to Medium

:: Brows ::

:: Eyes ::
HIP Color Chrome Eyeliner in Black Shock

:: Cheeks ::
ELF Studio Blush in Twinkle Pink

:: Lips ::
(you may remember this from a previous post)

Ah...I feel so nostalgic now!  I can have my wedding day makeup without having to bother my makeup artist. :D  Do check out Christal Clear Cosmetics, and if you get a chance to, tell her that StyleByCat says hi!  Oh, and for any of you ladies in the bay area who's getting married or will be attending some sort of swanky event, you might want to consider Christal.  She's one of the best, both in ability and personality.  She really has a knack for making a gal feel beautiful both inside and out.  Just be warned, she books up fast!

Hope y'all found this post useful, or at least entertaining to some extent.  Back to studying for finals.  One down, two more to go!  Nighty-night!

Hugs,
Cat

  1. Ah! That's a nice haul you got there! Everything looks so cute and I love the colors you got. I can't remember the last time I bought myself that many products...

    I'm always in the mood for a good haul, but when I actually get to Sephora, I just look at everything wondering why it's so expensive... :(

  2. Hey Jennifer, you're probably wiser than me because I shouldn't be spending at all on myself right now, especially since it's the holidays! The same thing happens to me when I go to Sephora, I have 10 things in mind and end up leaving with only 1 thing. Just consider it smart shopping, I want so many more things than I need!
