Gold Glitter Minx

TGIF y'all!  What does everyone have planned for the weekend?  I'll be carving pumpkins tonight, so I definitely won't be wearing my best.  But that doesn't mean that I can't have pretty eyeshadow. :)  Just for the heck of it, I decided to deck my lids out in shimmery shades of pale blue and champagne with a dash of gold glitter:

I used some Urban Decay: Minx and Darkhorse (from the Rollergirl Palette).  Also Carbon from MAC and Maybelline gel eyeliner.  The gold glitter liner is from Sephora.

One thing I've been doing lately is extending my eyeliner further into the inner corner of my eye, you know, ancient Egyptian style.  I notice that it makes my eyes look larger and more elongated, thus more exotic.  My eyes are naturally small and almond-shaped, so I really like the option of making them look bigger! :)

Hope everyone is having a good one so far!  I'll be celebrating Halloween early this weekend since the actual date is on a school night.  Will post pics, even though I'll be re-wearing last year's costume! :P

Flirty Pink

A few weeks ago, as a birthday gift, I received a goodie bag from Christal Clear Cosmetics.  Included was one of Christal's signature 5 shadow palettes in Flirty Pink.  Seeing as it was a rather dreary, rainy day today, I thought I'd liven it up by adding some bright pink to my lids.

I just did a simple pink gradient, using the brightest pink as my base color and then adding dimension by applying black to the outer corners.  I finished with winged liner and mascara, as I almost always do. :)

Looking forward to enjoying the weekend, though I am tackling a big project for one of my classes.  It is the weekend before Halloween though, so that ought to be fun!  Looking forward to posting pictures of pumpkins and things! :D

Emo Geek Chic on Campus

My awesome photographer friend Noel suggested doing a back-to-school themed shoot on campus.  I gave it an emo, geek chic twist with a flirty, greyscale-inspired outfit offset with a pop of neon-pink lipstick.  Hope you like!

Not really sure how scholarly I looked without books or a backpack, but I'm really happy with how the pictures came out.  The beanie and skirt came from YesStyle, the glasses are from Coastal, the top was from Forever 21, the bag is Juicy Couture, and the boots are from Zappos.  Oh, and the lippy is Countessa Fluorescent by Lime Crime.  Happy Wednesday everyone!

SF MOMA

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!  I totally miss you guys!  I'll bet most of you have forgotten about me by now.  *sniff sniff*  The new school quarter has proven to be more grueling than I had expected.  I'm in class from 8:40am until 6pm!  No time for hair, style, or makeup...  Boo!  That and with jewelry orders pouring in, I don't have time for anything these days!  Well, the good news is I was able to do a cute style shoot on campus at my university over the weekend, so I'll have those up by tomorrow.  In the meantime, all I've got to offer is little things here and there about what's going on in my life right now.  Anyhoo...husband was away for most of last week working on a clothing shoot in Los Angeles.

To make up for his absence, we had a really nice date weekend!  After I picked him up from the airport, we had a meal, went for a couples massage, and rented two dvds, Pollack and 50/50. (great films, btw)  We spent the next day at the San Francisco Museum Of Modern Art checking out works by some of my favorite artists that I've learned about in my art history classes.  It gave me chills looking at some of those amazing pieces, knowing that these people once lived and created them with their very own hands!  Do any of you art buffs recognize some of these?

After three hours of wandering around the museum, we got hungry and decided to try a famous Italian seafood restaurant in San Francisco called Sotto Mare.  Prior to our visit, I had never been to Sotto Mare, but they do boast about having the most delicious cioppino in the SF Bay Area.  And you know, they're quite right!  They also serve up the freshest oysters and some wonderful clam chowder as well!

We topped off the evening by visiting Z Cioccolato, a renown sweet shop in the North Beach district of SF, famous for their barrels and barrels of taffy!

So sweet! (literally and figuratively) After buying a bagful of candy, they sent us home with complimentary, fresh-popped caramel corn!  Yum!

I definitely enjoyed my deliciously lovely weekend...so much so that adventures like these should exist on a monthly basis!  Lol.

Anyways, for those of you who are still around, thanks for reading!  I look forward to sharing the style shoot with you all tomorrow!  Sweet dreams and good night! :D

Getting Older

Sorry I've been away!  Been celebrating a hectic "birthweek" while trying to finish school assignments and complete jewelry orders!  Have I mentioned that there aren't enough hours in a day? Lol!  Anyhoo...I turned a year older this past Wednesday and my guests and I celebrated in mustachio-ed style over the weekend.  Here are some pics:

My totally awesome "airmail" bday cake created by the bakery that did our wedding cake!  Her name is Carolyn Wong and we've been ordering special occasion cakes from her since we got married.  She always does an amazing job and her cakes taste as delicious as they're beautiful!  This one was my favorite...chocolate with salted caramel buttercream.  Mmmmmmmm!

Baby sis and me goofing off before guests arrive.  (that's hubby behind the lens)

Bestie and me posing.  She refused to do a duckface version.  Maybe I can get her to do so after a few glasses of wine next time...

Aaaaaaahhhhh!  I didn't want to cut into it!

Everyone LOVED the mustache party favors, handmade by my baby sis!  Thanks my Chris-miss!

The party was a huge success!  Lots of eating, drinking, and merry-making.  Everyone left happy and I had a really good sleep! :)

Happy Monday all!
