Of course, there have been countless interpretations through the ages:
I definitely wanted the gilded look, but I was going for something a little more subtle, in fact, I ended up going to work like this and received many compliments.
So, to start, I'm going to apply Urban Decay's Primer Potion in Greed to my upper and lower lids:
Next, I'm going to apply Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Chase (from my 15 Anniversary Palette) to my upper and lower lids:
Then, using black gel/cream eyeliner (I'm using the Wet N Wild brand), I'm going to create a leonine eye shape by winging my upper lash liner and extending my inner corner liner:
With Sephora's Glitter Eyeliner in Gold, I'm going to accent my top lash line:
For extra shimmer, I'm going to highlight my brow arch with Josie Maran Argan Illuminizor:
Then I'm going to curl my eyelashes and apply mascara (Maybelline Full N Soft Waterproof in Black):
To finish, I'm going to add some glittery eyelashes (from Daiso):
For a complete look, I applied ELF Studio Bronzer in Golden to my cheeks and applied Stila Lip Glaze in Vanilla to my lips:
Not bad! I think I nailed Cleopatra without looking too costume-y, although it would have been cool if I had one of those ornate braided wigs with the gold accents!
Anyways, hope y'all enjoyed the tutorial and have a great Saturday! :D
Hugs,
Cat
Love this look! The liner and gold look amazing.
ReplyDeleteOMG! I'm sooooooo obsessed with this gold glitter liner!
DeleteYou definitely don't look costumey! I find that quite wearable and you look really pretty! I may have to try that myself...

DeleteYou are the goddess of the eyeliner. I am speechless.
ReplyDeleteHaha, believe me, I'd had some pretty ugly eyeliner faux pas. :D But thank you, I really liked the way this turned out. :)
DeleteLovely look! <3 I'm gonna try this :o
ReplyDeletePlease do! I think you'll really like the way it looks! :D

ReplyDeleteAwesome! You're going to have so much fun with it! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this look on you! Well, I love all the looks on you. Not so much on me, though. I just can't seem to wear it like you do. :\
ReplyDeleteThanks Tiffanie! Aw, don't worry about it. There are looks that I love that don't quite work on me either. It's all about knowing what works for yourself and to run with it! :D
DeleteMy eyeliner has getting more and more like this for the last few days, the fact that you say you pulled it off at work makes me so tempted to do a similar look tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteThat's fantastic! I think you're going to look great! Feeling pretty while you're going about your day, whether it be work or school, makes the whole day nicer, don't you agree? :D
DeleteOh I completely agree with you! I am a strong believer that you can get away with any clothes as long as your face and your shoes are beautiful. I certainly feel more confidant at work when I have my face on. I love your photo's they always look so classy x
DeleteHaha, I use that term too: "putting on my face". Aw, thanks for the compliment! xoxo
